The Narrow Twist Flower

The narrow twist (Galeopsis angustifolia, synonym: Galeopsis ladanum) is a plant of the mint family (Lamiaceae).

The plant is 7-50 cm high. The stems are covered with soft hairs below the nodes, and little or no thickening. The leaves are oblong to lanceolate and have an edge or a gift of four pairs of excellent little jagged edges.

The plant flowers from June to autumn with purple, 1.6 to 2 cm (sometimes to 28 cm) long, flowers arranged in a show ring. The lip is a yellow spot and the upper lip is weakly toothed.

Narrow twist occurs on cropland and on railroads.

Narrow bend is on the Dutch and Belgian Red List of plants as very rare.
